In 2019 3.7 billion packages were delivered in Germany by the parcel services; 1.6 billion packages alone were delivered by Deutsche Post DHL. At night the tractor and trailer deliver the many packages to the distribution centres, so that they can reach their final destinations the next morning. The rear doors of the box superstructure of the tractor and trailer can be opened, and the trailer can be coupled and uncoupled.
